Keith Cowing is founder of Reston Communications which creates unique science-oriented websites among which are "The Astrobiology Web" and the "Whole Mars Catalog". Mr. Cowing received both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Biology from Central Connecticut State University where his research concerned the effects of simulated hypogravity upon embryonic avian bone development. Cowing worked for NASA between 1990 and 1993 at the Space Station Freedom Program Office (SSFPO) as Manager of Pressurized Payload Accommodations in the Utilization and Operations Division. At SSFPO he served as the Payload Accommodations Manager for 4 "astrobiology" payloads: the Centrifuge Facility, the Gravitational Biology Facility, the CELSS Test Facility, and the Gas-Grain Simulation Facility. Mr. Cowing has also worked for the American Institute of Biological Sciences (AIBS) where he has managed large-scale life science peer review projects for NASA and the U.S. Army, and for the Universities Space Research Association (USRA) where he provided support for NASA's Life Sciences Strategic Planning Study Committee. Mr. Cowing is a charter member of the American Society for Gravitational and Space Biology (ASGSB) and served on the ASGSB Board of Governors from 1992-1994.
