For over 40 years W. Francis Ganong, M.D., has been teaching and carrying out physiological research at the University of California, San Francisco, Medical School where he is Lange Professor of Physiology Emeritus in the Department of Physiology. He is the author of the Review of Medical Physiology, which is in its seventeenth edition in the Lange Medical Book series. He has had a long association with NASA, serving on many advisory committees. His research focus is neuroendocrinology, emphasizing the role of renin/angiotensin in the central regulation of blood pressure.
