Yvonne Pendleton is an infrared observational astronomer in the Planetary
Systems Branch at NASA-Ames. She received her Ph.D. in Astrophysics from
the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1987. Her research
interests are focussed on the study of interstellar dust and the
composition of primitive solar system objects. She is currently
investigating the organic component of the interstellar medium and
the incorporation of that material into the early solar nebula. She
recently organized a conference entitled "From Stardust to Planetesimals"
which brought together astronomers interested in star and planet
formation, planetary scientists studying early solar system
relics, laboratory scientists studying the processing of analogs, and
scientists analyzing meteorites and interplanetary dust particles.
