James F. Kasting

Dr. Kasting is a specialist in atmospheric evolution on the Earth and on the other terrestrial planets. He received his undergraduate education in Chemistry and Physics at Harvard University and his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science at the University of Michigan. Before coming to Penn State University in 1988, he spent two years at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado, and seven years in the Space Science Division at NASA-Ames Research Center. His current position is Professor of Geosciences and Meteorology.
