Debra J. Wolgemuth, Ph.D., is Professor of Genetics and Development
and Obstetrics and Gynecology; Associate Director, The Center for
Reproductive Sciences; Director of the Developmental Biology and
Genetics Division of the Cancer Center; and a member of the Doctoral
Program in The Institute of Human Nutrition, all at Columbia University
College of Physicians and Surgeons. Her specific research interests
focus on the function of development-regulating genes during vertebrate
embryogenesis and on the genetic control of mammalian gametogenesis, with
particular emphasis on the role of cell cycle-regulating genes in meiosis
in the germ line. She serves in various advisory capacities, including the
Editorial Boards of Developmental Biology, Transgene Research, and
Molecular Reproduction and Developmentt and the Governing Board of the
American Society for Gravitational and Space Biology, and is currently
a member of the NIH HED2 Study Section.
